According to the report “The concept of digital scholarship has origins in the late 1990s in the United Kingdom. Originally referred to as e-science, the idea of applying new technology and data analysis tools to scholarship cycled through other names like cyber-infrastructure and e-scholarship, before landing on the current umbrella term.
