Jean VacherJean Vacher’s main area of personal research has been the history, culture and identity of the Balkan people in the early part of the 20th century, viewed through their textiles. Key research methods have used material culture held in public collections including that of the Crafts Study Centre (CSC), the archives of such bodies as the Royal Institute of Anthropology and other primary and secondary sources relating to this area of interest. She would like to extend these methods to other cultures where these have been represented in the CSC’s practitioner’s reference collections.
