Produced by Environmental Data Services, ENDS Environment Daily is a subscription news service aimed at 'professionals interested in European environmental affairs'. It is published on the Web at 19.00 CET (Central European Time), Monday - Friday. Subscribers also receive each issue directly by e-mail. Current subscriptions cost 108.90 pounds a year. A free trial subscription is available. Completion of the free trial registration also gives you a full year's free access to ENDS Environmental Consultants Directory, Links, Jobs and Events. Access to English, French & German language press releases is available without subscription.
News of environmental activity all over Europe is covered with particular focus on the 15 members of the European Union. Aimed at policy makers, regulators, corporate environmental managers, local government environmental officers, waste managers, environmentalists and technical specialists, ENDS Environment Daily 'keeps readers informed of the pressures affecting Europe's environment and business prospects.'

Each issue has a contents list and normally contains 3 longer items with 2 News in Brief shorter articles. Typical coverage, e.g. from the issue for 12/3/97: UK adopts air quality strategy - Plan aims to end health effects from eight "priority pollutants" by 2005 has a link to the Department of the Environment and from 13/3/97: Global warming is real say experts - US experts say satellite readings, temperature records, support each other has a link to Nature vol. 386, pp164-167. Contacts listed at end of all items can be in the form of an URL with a link, or a literature reference, or contact telephone number - a useful feature for finding fuller information.
A search function allows the archival database of all ENDS Environment Daily articles to be searched by keyword, date(s) or both or by a particular issue. Logical operators can be employed between keywords.
This is a useful resource particularly for those in the business or political sectors who need to keep up to date with developing environmental issues.
