As the '96 Formula One season kicks off it's good to see there's even more information available on the Internet about the teams, cars and circuits featured this season.

The Formula One Journal, the online F1 magazine http://www.f1journal.com, promises to provide the best Formula One information on the Net. In addition to the normal background information, i.e., team details, race information, rules and regulations (useful for catching up on the new rules for the 1996 season), the magazine will also contain news and columns submitted by F1 enthusiasts and readers are encouraged to contribute. And for those of you who are using Java, the site is Java compatible.

For those F1 fans interested in statistics http://student-www.eng.hawaii.edu/carina/index/ra.f1.html, provides a quite comprehensive set of statistics, including details of race and driver histories, individual Grand Prix and Championship Winners and even a listing of Grand Prix Deaths. Also quite interesting is 'Tribute to Great Drivers', http://www.bath.ac.uk/~bspahh/driver_tributes.html, which brings together contributions from a large number of F1 fans and includes a large section on Ayrton Senna.

The Williams' Web pages, http://www.connect.ca/formula1/, contain very comprehensive details about their drivers as well as technical specifications of their cars and the courses. A word of warning though, the pages use attractive image maps to let you navigate around the site but they are consequently very slow.

The Ferrari Official Web site, http://www.ferrari.it/, (be prepared for the predictable red background on the home page), provides information in both Italian and English. The site provides information about the history of Ferrari as well as the normal driver and car information. Usefully for Ferrari fans, the site includes a very up-to-date news section which provides short bulletins on testing and other news. There is also a Photo Gallery containing quick time and MPEG movies. The site also boasts a long movie clip of the launch of the Ferrari F 310, the car competing in the 1996 season.

The Jordan Peugeot team home page, http://www.peugeot.com/ again provides details of the technical characteristics of the Jordan Peugeot car as well as a section containing biographies of the drivers and notables such as Eddie Jordan. Similarly the McLaren International home page, http://www.mclaren.co.uk/ gives team and car details, including the 1995 Team Launch (complete with quick time movie). There is also message from Mika Hakkinen in which he talks about his accident and ongoing recovery.

The Benetton Formula One pages can be found at http://www.jtnet.ad.jp/WWW/MILDSEVEN/F1/Benetton/Benetton.html. The pages contain the basic information that you would expect and some nice photographs, but the server is very slow and the pages slightly disappointing.

A collection of Formula One related links can be found at http://www.formeleins.de/ This list is fairly comprehensive but might have benefited from being split into more than one page.
