This site offers both PowerPoint and HTML versions of modules designed to help Internet trainers. The modules have to be downloaded, but a preview of each module is available on-line from the InterNIC site, and each module has an abstract.

Currently, the modules are organised within the following categories: Internet History, Electronic Mail, Indexing and Search Services, WWW, Internet Organisations, the Basics, Tools, and Technology. Future attractions will include the categories The Future (!), and Suggested Curriculum.

The site is well-organised and cohesive, with good help and an informal but not simplistic style. An example of the site's good organisation and maintenance is the searching and browsing facility. You can browse the entire material by module author, by title, or by the date the resource was added. You can also search the module abstracts for keywords.

Each category is prefaced with an introductory page outlining the aim of the category, and then asks how you want to list the contents of the category. For example, the Basics category contains modules on: Internet addressing, What is Netiquette, What is Netscape Navigator, What is Network News, What is TCP/IP, What is Telnet, What is a Browser, What is a network, What is an IP address, What is the Internet, What is the WWW?

As an example, "What is the Internet" contains 7 PowerPoint slides, with no notes. Nicely formatted slides, very basic. "Stab points" for a trainer rather than any prescriptive catch-all. A useful site, with well-organised, consistent, well-maintained and attractive Internet trainer resources. I'd give it a good 6 or 7 out of 10.
