      <description>John Kirriemuir has been an independent researcher since May 2001; he now specialises in the evidence base for the effective use of digital games in climate and environmental education, learning and teaching.
Previous to this, John worked for a range of digital library projects, services and centres, including UKOLN, the IRLT and the CDLR. John was the web editor of the first ten issue of Ariadne, back in (the day of) 1996 to 1997.</description>

      <description>For the last decade Tore Hoel has been working on standardisation of learning technologies in Norway, Europe and worldwide. He is now engaged on European TEL projects and is acting as the vice-chair of the CEN Workshop on Learning Technologies. Hoel is co-editor on the new part of the upcoming ISO standard on metadata for learning resources. His field of interest has been standards governance and the role of standards in the development of learning technologies.</description>
