Brian Kelly is the Senior Netskills Trainer for the Netskills project, based at the University of Newcastle. Brian first became involved with the World Wide Web in December 1992 while working at Leeds University. By January 1993 Leeds University was running a World Wide Web server - the first institutional server in the UK academic community. Convinced of the importance of the World Wide Web Brian gave presentations about the World Wide Web between September 1993 and July 1995 at a number of institutions in the UK (including the universities of Aberdeen, Bangor, Bradford, Kent, King's College London, Loughborough, Manchester Metropolitan, Oxford and Sussex). He also gave a paper on Becoming An Information Provider on The World Wide Web at the JENC 6 / INET 94 conference in Prague in June 1994, gave a poster display at the WWW 94 conference in CERN, Geneva In May 1994 and ran an Internet workshop in Moscow in June 1995. Since October 1995 Brian has been employed as the Senior Netskills Trainer for the Netskills project, based at Newcastle University. Netskills is a high profile UK-wide project, which is being funded for three years as part of the extensive Electronic Libraries Programme (eLib).
