Approximately six thousand Canaanean style blades were recovered from the Early Bronze III levels of occupation (Strata XV-XII); in addition, some nine chert cores used in the manufacture of blades were found in Early Bronze III settings. The area of Early Bronze III occupation exposed in the excavation of Halif is relatively small, while the number of blades and cores seems relatively high.
