He is currently Professor of Classics at Furman University in South Carolina. He is the author of books and articles on Alexander the Great, Athenian Democracy, and topics in digital humanities. With Neel Smith, Blackwell is a Project Architect of the Homer Multitext Project of the Center for Hellenic Studies of Harvard University.
