He forms part of the Strategic Innovation Unit for the Department of Library Services where his role is to investigate, plan, launch and manage innovation projects. The projects that he is involved with are of strategic importance for the University and Library Services. He is currently in process of establishing a Digital Scholarship Centre at the University of Pretoria.
