Colchester Institute is a large provider of further and higher education based in the town of Colchester, and includes the Centre for Music and Performing Arts, Centre for Hospitality and Food Studies, and the Professional Training Centre. Education courses are accredited by the University of Essex. On 1st January 2010, Colchester Institute took over Braintree College. Although Colchester Institute owns and manages Braintree College, Braintree continues to operate under its its own name, and has its own website. Digital Peer Publishing NRW (DiPP) is a large-scale project initiated by the Ministry for Science and Research in North Rhine-Westphalia and implemented by the Hochschulbibliothekszentrum NRW 'University Libraries Center' in Cologne. The Ministry for Science and Research in North Rhine-Westphalia has acted as initiator for the Open Access Initiative: Digital Peer Publishing NRW. This initiative encourages the foundation and expansion of scientific e-journals.The goal is to increase the number of high-quality scientific publications, as well as to develop new methods of network-based cooperative information management and anchor these as far as possible. Falmouth University is a multi-arts university based in Falmouth and Penryn, Cornwall, England. Founded in 1902, it had previously been the Falmouth School of Art, Falmouth College of Art and Design and then Falmouth College of Arts until it received taught degree-awarding powers (and the right to use the title "University College") in March 2005. In April 2008, University College Falmouth merged with Dartington College of Arts, adding a range of Performance courses to its portfolio. This merger had been the subject of dispute by some supporters of Dartington. On 27 November 2012, a communication was released to the staff and students and local press that 'University College Falmouth is to be granted full university status in a move that will further its ambition to become one of the top five arts universities in the world.' On 9 December 2012, the University College was officially granted full university status by the Privy Council. The university is located in Penryn and Falmouth. Tremough Campus, in Penryn, is the larger of its two campuses, which it shares in a unique partnership with the University of Exeter. The Humboldt University of Berlin (German Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) is Berlin's oldest university, founded in 1810 as the University of Berlin (Universität zu Berlin) by the liberal Prussian educational reformer and linguist Wilhelm von Humboldt, whose university model has strongly influenced other European and Western universities. IMS Global Learning Consortium (usually known as ITIMS or IMS GLC) is a global, nonprofit, member organization that strives to enable the growth and impact of learning technology in the education and corporate learning sectors worldwide. IMS GLC members provide leadership in shaping and growing the learning industry through community development of interoperability and adoption practice standards and recognition of the return on investment from learning and educational technology. The International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) is a trade and standards association for the digital publishing industry, that has been set up in order to establish a reliable and complete standard for ebook publishing. Starting from the Open eBook Publication Structure or "OEB" (1999), which was created loosely around HTML, it then defined the OPS (Open Publication Structure), the OPF (Open Packaging Format) and the OCF (Open Container Format). These formats are the basis for the common EPUB and Mobipocket ebook file formats (Comparison of e-book formats). While the basic standards are now established (pages, hyperlinks, definition of table of contents, authors, etc.) some other standards intersect the hardware field, such as those for power and for features of the hardware reader devices, and are still undergoing change and evolution. Other standards for ecommerce (including Digital Rights Management protections), are tied to the way the ebook is sold or delivered, and are therefore controlled by the respective vendors.
