Although apathy was the order of the day and few seats actually changed hands, important changes have been made that are worth mentioning here in Ariadne. In a Cabinet reshuffle the government has replaced the previous Culture secretary, Chris Smith, with Tessa Jowell, formerly a minister of state in the Department for Education and Employment. Working alongside her in the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) will be Tessa Blackstone, also a previous minister in the DFEE.

issue28 editorial marieke guy british library d-lib magazine jisc oai oxford brookes university queens university belfast ukoln university of oxford agora dner elib inspiral sosig accessibility collection description database digital library dublin core e-learning graphics metadata personalisation preservation raster graphics research resource discovery rslp software svg url vector graphics web development xml Thu, 21 Jun 2001 23:00:00 +0000 editor 790 at http://www.ariadne.ac.uk
