Bangor University (Welsh: Prifysgol Bangor) is a university based in the city of Bangor in the county of Gwynedd in North Wales. Until 1 September 2007 the University was part of the federal University of Wales, and was officially known for most of its history as the University College of North Wales ("UCNW", Coleg Prifysgol Gogledd Cymru in Welsh). From 1995 until 31 August 2007 the University was known as University of Wales, Bangor ("UWB") and Prifysgol Cymru, Bangor ("PCB"). (Excerpt from Wikipedia article: Bangor University)
