This was the eleventh Dublin Core meeting: the first eight events were categorised as 'workshops' and this was the third time it has taken the form of a 'conference' with peer-reviewed papers and posters, and a tutorial track. The OpenURL was selected as a topic as JIBS perceived a growing interest in this issue, as shown by correspondence on email lists such as lis-e-journals, and the increasing uptake of OpenURL resolvers by the community.
