This article reports on the results of an analysis of recent Ofsted school inspection reports focusing on inspectors' observation of styles of teaching in design and technology in the years of schooling from age 5-11 years. Whilst not evaluating the inspection process this paper does draw attention to relevant inspection vocabulary

and findings.
